Lawrence Taylor admitted paying for sex in a suburban Holiday Inn where police say the former football star raped a girl of 16 who had run away from home, attorneys said Friday the indictment against the alleged pimp the young.
The indictment, filed in federal court in Manhattan, referred to Taylor as "Customer 1".
In court papers, authorities say the Hall of Fame American football told police after his arrest on Thursday it had taken a taxi from Newark International Airport to the hotel to the north of the city of New York to meet to "Victim 1".
Taylor said that after "sexual relations" with the victim, paid $ 300 in cash, according to the indictment. The man accused by the authorities, Rashid Davis, had told the legendary Giants slugger that the girl was 19 years, according to court documents.
Taylor, 51, was charged Thursday in Suffern, New York, third-degree rape and pay for a prostitute. His lawyer, Arthur Aidala, denied the allegations.
Davis is expected to appear in federal court later on charges of sex trafficking of a minor.
The girl, whom her family reported her missing in March, met Davis in a Bronx bus stop two or three weeks ago. According to the indictment, the girl told investigators that Davis, who is 36 years old and was on parole, offered him a place to live and a way to make money.
She said that Davis was given the drug ecstasy and marijuana before coercing to "maintain multiple sexual acts of a commercial nature" with prices ranging from $ 150 80. It advertised its services by sending photographs of her cell and placing ads on Internet portals, said the indictment.
On Wednesday, Davis sent a text message to the girl kept saying she wanted sex with "Customer 1" for $ 300. When she refused, Davis attacked her, took her to the hotel against their will and waited outside while she was having sex with Taylor, the indictment said.
Taylor led the Giants defense and helped the team win the Super Bowl in 1987 and 1991.
Ten times a participant in the Pro Bowl, was the MVP of the 1986 NFL Defensive Player of the league in 1981, 1982 and 1986.
